What's On in Adelaide: October 2026
October is one of the best months to be out in Adelaide. Festivals, film, design, fashion and a couple of great neighbourhood street parties are all packed into a few weeks. Here's a selection of what's on:
1. Adelaide Independent Film Festival

Sat 3 – Sun 4 Oct | Ticketed
A celebration of short film in two of the city's best cinemas. Day one is at the heritage-listed Capri Theatre, with filmmaker Q&As, the Wurlitzer organ and the awards. Day two is a new Industry Day at The Mercury.
2. Adelaide Showground Farmers' Market 20th Birthday

The market turns 20, with live music, kids' activities, birthday cake and a trail of tastings and deals from stallholders.
3. ADL Fashion Week

Five days of runways, talks, workshops and dining across the city and North Adelaide, with 30+ events. The runways are ticketed, some showcase events are free.
4. OzAsia Festival

The final OzAsia, and the whole program is free. Wander the giant Moon Lanterns at Elder Park, eat your way through Lucky Dumpling Market, and catch free concerts from Regurgitator and Lastlings.
5. Adelaide Design Week

89 events across exhibitions, installations, talks, open studios and workshops. Don't miss the Shopfront Design Circuit in the East End, BENCHED (40+ creatives each designing a bench) and the Shop Generator pop-up.
6. Adelaide Film Festival

122 films from 52 countries. It opens with Martin McDonagh's Wild Horse Nine and closes with the world premiere of Hell Has No Fire Escape.
7. HOUSEBLEND

House music and great coffee, with DJ sets at six west end cafés and a block party on Liverpool Street from 10am to 3pm. There's also a vintage and vinyl pop-up.
8. Gunson Street Party

A laneway party with live music, Latin dance lessons at sunset, market stalls and street food, all styled for spooky season with a Día de los Muertos theme.
